Govt to coaching centres: Follow regulations strictly

SRINAGAR, Dec 3: Secretary, school education, Farooq Ahmad Shah today asked private coaching centres to strictly follow the regulations and directives issued by the government from time to time.
He made these remarks while felicitating meritorious students at a function held at private coaching institute in Parraypora, Srinagar.
The state government had recently sealed some coaching centres for not following the registration process and regulations. The state government has directed the coaching centres to get registered with government, not to demand tuition fees in advance from the students and the fee must be paid on monthly basis, the intake capacity of students should not exceed and over-crowdedness should be discouraged, proper seating and heating arrangements in rooms during winter, separate toilet facilities for male and female students and the functioning of coaching centres should not begin before 9 AM.
Stressing that government is committed to give impetus to the educational scenario in the state, Farooq Shah during today’s function urged owners of the coaching centres to impart quality education among students. He said coaching centres can play a crucial role in nurturing students to prepare them for stiff competition in competitive examinations.
On the occasion, secretary, school education praised the students of Jammu and Kashmir who have proved themselves at the various levels in different competitive examinations across the globe. He said that over a period of time, the education system has grown and now students are showing their capabilities at various stages and they are cracking various entrance exams in highly reputed universities and colleges across the country.
