Non payment of MG-NAREGA funds

DODA, July 14: Over 500 villagers today ransacked tables and chairs of the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) office Doda.
They were angry for not providing the funds of the work done by them under the Scheme MG-NAREGA. The protesters were raising slogans against ACD Doda Pishori Lal and Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Ali Mohammad Sagar.
Today over 500 villagers of Block Ghat including Sarpanches of different Panchayats staged protest in DC office Doda and demanded the release of funds for their work done. Javed Malik Sarpanch said, “We approached to ACD Doda for dues, but he never heard our grievance and from last two years the department has not sanctioned even a single penny to the card holders of the villagers of the block Ghat.
Abdul Rehman, Sarpanch Roti-Padrana said that at every morning people knocked their doors to get the payments of their work but they are unable to do anything due to the poor response of the ACD Doda.
These protesters also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan regarding the matter.
When contacted Deputy Commissioner Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan said, “The protesters has submitted a memorandum to me regarding the payment of MG-NAREGA which was due from last two years, I have talked to the government and within seven days the dues will be funded to the card holders.”
