11 bovine animals rescued

JAMMU, July 13: Police in its drive against bovine smuggling claimed to have seized one truck carrying eleven bovine animals being smuggled to valley.
Police spokesman said that during the intervening night, police organized a special naka upon a specifically developed input regarding the smuggling of bovine animals to valley from Kunjwani area of Jammu. During naka checking on NHW Narwal-Nagrota road the naka party headed by In-charge Police Post Narwal under the supervision of SDPO City East DySP Shamsher Singh Sambyal and SP City South, Jammu, intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK02AG-6587 and found 11 bovine animals which were being smuggled to valley.
Police party immediately rescued and seized animals.
The driver of truck managed to escape taking cover of darkness.
A case FIR number 136 of 2012 under section 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation is going on.
