The slain militant was identified as Adil Ahmad Chopan son of Abdul Rashid Chopan of Loraw Jageer village. Adil was associated with Hizb.
Official sources said that the search operation to locate other militants was launched in the entire area after the firefight but no fresh contact was established.

The militant, local sources said, had survived a fierce overnight gunfight at Saimoo village of Tral earlier this year in which a top commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat and his another associate Faizan Ahmad had been killed. Chopan, according to locals, had been rescued by the locals from an Almirah soon after the encounter was over.
