J&K players shines at 3rd Singapore Open International Pencak Silat championship

JAMMU, Nov 19: Three J&K players Zakariya Bhat, Saliq Farooq and Mukeet Ellahi shined at the 3rd Singapore Open International Pencak Silat championship 2017 held from November 18 to 19 November at Bedok Sports Complex- Singapore.

In the Championship Mukeet Ellahi won gold medal, Zakariya Bhat ( Younger state awardee) won Silver and Saaliq bin Farooq won bronze medals at the international Pencak Silat championship.

In the Tanding events , Mukeet Ellahi beat Indonesian player by 5-0 and Zakariya Bhat lost his final fight with Singapore. Earlier Saaliq bin Farooq had lost his fight in the semi final .

The championship will be organised by Singapore Pencak Silat Federation under the Aegis of Asian Pencak Silat Federation and International Pencak Silat Federation.

congratulate all the 3 players and coach Irfan Aziz for the excellent performance of the state players at the international level. All the 3 medal winners were selected for the India camp for the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2019, which will be held under the Aegis of Olympic council of Asia and Indonesia Olympic Committee.
