“The victim is minor. The accused had reached Ganderbal to collect donations for an orphanage namely Al-Manan Yateem Trust at Hyderpora on the fateful day. They confessed to the crime during custodial interrogation,” SSP added.
Lone said the duo, after hatching a plan of burglary, entered into the victim’s house at Wakoora and chopped off her braid. However, they were caught by the locals after the victim raised hue and cry.
“The accused as per their statement targeted the girl only to engage other family members so that they could execute their plan slickly, though their plan failed the moment the victim raised hue and cry and the people caught hold of them,” said the SSP.
