Cop shot at, injured in Anantnag
ANANTNAG, Nov 9: Suspected militants on Thursday shot at and injured a policeman in southern Anantnag township. Official sources said that a special police officer (SPO) was shot at in the afternoon outside deputy commissioners (DC) office leaving him in a pool of blood. Identified as Tani Singh of Singhpora Mattan the injured cop was evacuated to district hospital Anantnag for treatment. The doctors at the hospital after giving him the first aid referred him to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

A doctor at hospital said that the cop had been hit by a bullet in the abdomen, injuring him critically.

Soon after the incident, security forces launched searches in the Bus Stand area of the town to man the attackers.
