Shutdown in Hajin, Shopian over militant killing

SRINAGAR, Oct 12: A shutdown was today observed in Hajin and Shopian over the killing of militants in encounters.
Two militants and two air force commandos were killed in the exchange of fire at Rakh-i-Paribal in Hajin.
Nasrullah Mir, a local resident, was among the killed militants. Thousands of people amid clashes and slogans had participated in the last rites of local militant.
Reports said shops and business establishments remained shut while transport also remained off the roads.
Meanwhile, Shopian town observed a complete shutdown for the consecutive fourth day against the killing of three militants.
Reports said that life was completely disrupted due to shutdown.
Three local militants were killed in a gunfight with government at Gattipora area of Keller in Shopian district three days back.
