Sonia authorized to choose next JKPCC president
Rahul urged to lead AICC

JAMMU, Oct 9: All the PCC delegates Monday unanimously authorized the Congress president Sonia Gandhi to finalize the AICC delegates and president of PCC from Jammu and Kashmir and also urged Rahul Gandhi to lead the party in the country.

An announcement in this connection was made in a meeting of newly elected PCC delegates from Jammu province at PCC headquarter Shahidi Chowk Jammu today under the chairmanship of Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO) Hussain Dalwai MP (Rajya Sabha) which was attended by APROs Maqsood Mirza, Deepak Rathode, PCC president G A Mir and all senior functionaries, MLAs, MLCs and other PCC delegates from all districts and parts of Jammu province.

The resolution presented in the meeting read, “A meeting of newly elected PCC delegates from Jammu held here today under the chairmanship of Hussain Dalwai, Pradesh Returning Officer, unanimously authorizes Congress president Sonia Gandhi to finalize the list of AICC members and president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee.”

According to chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, the resolution was wholeheartedly supported and unanimously adopted. The resolution was moved by senior leader Thakur Hari Singh and seconded by all senior leaders who included senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma, vice presidents Raman Bhalla and Mula Ram, R S Chib, Jugal Sharma, M S Niaz ( all former ministers), MLAs Vikar Rasool, Chowdhary Mohammed Akram and Mumtaz Khan, Naresh Gupta MLC, ex-MLAs Parkash Sharma, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Manjeet Singh (Samba) and Swaran Lata, B S Sambyal (Seva Dal chief) Neeraj Kundan (NSUI president), Namrata Sharma, Chowdhary Shah Nawaz (Poonch), Kuldeep Verma, Anil Chopra, Nek Ram Manhas (Kishtwar), Parveen Sarwar Khan, Thomas Khokar, Gurdarshan Singh, Pankaj Dogra, Ashok Gupta (Udhampur) and Vandana Sharma.

The speakers praised the leadership of Sonia Gandhi who led the party all through years with great dynamism and vision and stated that the entire rank and file of the party in the country had full faith and great respect for her. They said that she always took the right decisions in the interests of the country and party, at all crucial times. They lauded her selfless services and dynamic leadership.

The speakers simultaneously lauded the role and leadership of Rahul Gandhi who, they said, was fighting the forces of hatred and leading the party at most difficult challenges. They desired in one voice that he (Rahul) should take over the leadership of the party which was the need of the time. The entire cadre was behind his leadership and the younger leadership had great desire that he should lead the party being energetic and already playing a vital role in promoting the principles and ideology of the party in the service of nation, they stated.

Hussain Dalwai expressed happiness that the delegates expressed full faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and said that the sheen and shine of BJP government was over and now the people of the country started realizing the falsehood and hollow slogans of Modi government and they were looking towards Congress party to more vigorously lead the campaign to expose the Modi government and oppose its wrong policies. “The Congress has to take upon this challenge and come up to the expectations of common people of this country who feel cheated because of total failures of Modi government on various fronts,” they said.
