CD organizes disaster preparedness training programme

SRINAGAR, June 24: Civil Defence organized 5-day disaster preparedness training programme at Government College for Women, M.A. Road, Srinagar from today. The training programme was inaugurated by Principal of the College, Prof. Shaheen Altaf.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal asked the students to attend the training programme with keen interest and seriously. She appreciated Civil Defence for the efforts put in to organize the training programme.The training programme was attended by 71 girl students including hoteliers from across the Valley.
Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence, Aamir Ali gave a resume of the training to be conducted and implored the students to learn life saving skills which include fire fighting, first aid, search and rescue in order to be better equipped to respond to any natural or human induced disaster, as well as day to day emergencies.
The programme was organized in collaboration with NSS Wing of the College, Dr. Nishat Ara welcomed the participants.
