Kanidajan to get PHC, Hr Sec school: Rather

CHARAR-I-SHARIEF, June 23: Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather today conducted a day long extensive tour of Charar-i-Sharief and its adjoining areas including Kanidajan.
Addressing a series of public gatherings at different places, the minister reiterated the commitment of the government for developing far-off and remote areas of the state. He said that the developmental projects undertaken in the area would be completed within time frame. He said that the Dharwan-Kanidajan road project would be completed within stipulated time frame for which he said an amount of Rs 4.5 Cr had already been allocated under PMGSY.
Rather said that an amount of Rs 21 Cr had been allocated to social welfare department to clear cases of pensions under various categories.
The minister said that Chrar-i-Sharief-Pakharpora-Yusmarg road had also been completed with an expenditure of Rs 24 Cr adding that a few remaining kilometers which were required forest clearance would be completed shortly.
Rather also inaugurated a Primary School in Alimpora, Kanidajan.
Responding to the demands put forth by the locals, the minister said besides upgradation of local school, Kanidajan would also get a Primary Health Centre (PHC) and a branch of J&K Bank soon. He said that other demands including construction of water reservoir, free availability of firewood and timber, opening of Anganwadi centres, establishment of receiving station and macadamization of Kanidajan-Nowgam-Batpora road would also be looked into. He also directed the PDD authorities for conduct of survey and preparation of estimates for required poles and wire in the area for the convenience of the people.
