J&K Police suspends 4G mobile internet services
NEW DELHI, Sep 15: Defence experts on Friday hailed the Indian Armed forces for their "mega success" after a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants operating in Kashmir and the architect of the Amarnath Yatra attack, Abu Ismail, was gunned down.
Speaking to reporters defence expert PK Sehgal said that the gunning down was something that needs to be commanded and complemented.
"This is a mega success for the Indian forces. He was involved in the killing of Amaranth Yatris in the first week of July and all efforts were made to either nab him or eliminate him. This is something that needs to be commanded and complemented. With his elimination, the moral and motivation of the terrorists operating with the Valley will lower down," he added.
Echoing similar sentiment, another defence expert Qamar Agha said that the killing of Abu Ismile was a major success on the part of the Armed forces operation in the Valley. "It is a major relief for the security forces," he added.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police suspended 4G mobile internet services after Ismail was gunned down in Nowgam. Ismail was involved in the Amarnath attack earlier this year.
Talking to the media here, Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar said, "This is a huge achievement. The terrorist was responsible for the attack on Amarnath Yatris."
As many as seven people were killed and 15 others injured after a group of terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying 17 pilgrims from Baltal.
