NC, PDP, other parties have already surrendered on Art 35-A: Geelani
KT NEWS SERVICE
SRINAGAR, Sep 13: Syed Ali Shah, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), today said the mainstream political parties have already surrendered before Government of India (GoI) on Article 35 A and asked the people not to get “misled by their hue and cry over the issue.”

In a statement, he ridiculed what he described as the dubious role played by pro-Indian political parties, including National Conference, Congress, PDP and others during the recent people’s uprising against the abrogation of Article 35-A and Article 370.

Commenting over the statement of union home minister Rajnath Singh about Article 35 A, Geelani said that mainstream parties in Jammu & Kashmir have virtually submitted an intentional surrender and all their parroting proved a hoax. A pre-planned drama is being enacted by these parties, he added.

Geelani said their hue and cry was just a mockery to retain and grab power corridors.

Geelani blamed pro-Indian parties for exploiting sentiments of innocent people and while calling these political leaders as double dealers, said that for last seven decades the people are suffering because of their hypocritical behaviour.

Hurriyat (G) chairman appealed the common people not to fall in line of these politicians.

He condemned the “arbitrary approach of NIA and state government against leadership”. Geelani said leadership including Shabir Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saif-ullah, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam, Nayem Ahmed Khan, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Advocate Miyan Abdul Qayoom, Zameer Ahmad Sheikh, Kamran Yousuf, Sajjad Ahmed, Aga Syed Hassan and Ghulam Nabi Sumji were either unlawfully detained in Tihar jail or summoned by NIA and added their residences are being raided to create scare and harassment.

Geelani said judiciary has failed to bring justice to Ayisa Andrabi and Fehmeeda Sofi despite the fact that they were repeatedly bailed out by concerned courts.
