We are providing platform to J&K youth: Army

SRINAGAR, Sep 12: Army on Tuesday said that it has been providing platforms to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by way of recruitment or other engagements to assimilate them into mainstream.

“Army is always providing a platform where youth can be assimilated into the mainstream whether it is by the way of recruitment in the army units or in Territorial Army units or in any other agency or by way of engagement by the army,” General Officer Commanding (GoC) 15 Corps, Lieutenant General Satish Dua said.

GoC was talking to media on the sidelines of passing out parade of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) here.

Responding to a query, Dua said “of course they are Kashmiri, they are real youth of Kashmir who want to adopt right path although there are some youth who have been mislead”.

He said that the youth who joined JAKLI represents every part of the state and the way they pledged over all three religious books is an example of national unity.

“This is really a pride moment for me and I am feeling happy that 185 recruits of Jammu and Kashmir completed 110th course and joined JAKLI as soldiers In the army there is always risk to your own life that’s why we take pledge today to defend their motherland and if they have to risk their lives they will not hesitate and that is the pledge of every army soldier,” added GoC.
