Manmohan-led Cong group on J&K arriving today

JAMMU, Sep 9: A high level Congress policy and Planning group of J&K affairs headed by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is arriving here tomorrow to meet different sections of society during two days tour.

The group comprises senior Congress leader Dr Karan Singh, former Home Minister P Chidambaram, the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC general secretary Ambika Soni besides representatives of party from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in the group. The group would straightway go to Guest House Canal Road and will interact with the senior party leaders in the executive meeting at 12 noon onwards.

In the post lunch, the group will meet different delegations of the civil society from different sections and walks of life.

Other than the party executive, the group has meeting with civil society and main stream opposition parties.

Among other delegations which are scheduled to meet included delegation of Bar Association, delegation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry, delegation of Pahari, delegation of Dogri Sanstha, delegation of ex-servicemen, delegation of SCs, STs and OBCs, delegation of minority, delegation of women, delegation of mainstream opposition parties, delegation of Displaced Persons of 1947,65 & 71, delegation of Kashmiri migrants, delegation of Kisan & border residents, delegation of erstwhile Doda district and delegation of intellectuals group.

The delegation will stay at the guest house and next day morning fly back to Delhi.

Next week the same group will visit Kashmir to have similar exercise of interaction.
