Tral, Shopian students march in solidarity with Rohingyas

ANANTNAG, Sep 6: Students protests continued in parts of south Kashmir against the persecution of Rohingya Muslims for the third running day on Wednesday.
In volatile Tral township hundreds of students of degree college, higher secondary school and a reputed private educational institute MTI boycotted the classes and took out a protest rally in support of the persecuted Muslim minority of Mayanmar. Carrying placards and banners with slogans in support of Rohingyas and against Mayanmar government, the protesting students marched through the market places of the town. The students were also raising slogans against the Mayanmar government. After marching through the streets of the town, witnesses said, the protesting students later dispersed peacefully.
Students of higher secondary school in neighboring district, Shopian, witnesses said, also held protests against the killing of Muslims in Myanmar.
Scores of students of higher secondary school Shopian, witnesses said, assembled in school premises and marched out of the school to protest the persecution of Rohingyas. The students with banners were condemning of the killing of Rohingyas and seeking attention of the world towards their plight in their hands took out a rally. The protesting students, witnesses said, while marching through the main market also raised slogans for Kashmir's freedom.
On Tuesday students of Degree College, Pulwama and Kulgam had marched in solidarity with Rohingya Muslims. In Tral civil society group under the banner of 'Citizens Council' on Monday had organised a huge protest rally against the persecution of Muslims in Burma.
