Ishar XI, Simula XI win ties in Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket

JAMMU, Oct 28: Ishar XI and Simula XI won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup Tournament at MA Stadium, here today.

Earlier, in the first match of the day, Ishar drubbed Friends X1 by 71 runs in an easy contest. After winning the toss and batting first, Ishar XI set a decent target of 164 runs in the 20 overs game.

Sandeep remained top scorer with 67 runs coming off 53 balls including six boundaries , while Viswajeet Singh hit well made 37 runs off 28 deliveries including four boundaries and six. Sahil contributed 17 runs to the total. From Friends Club, Romario and Taffy were most successful bowlers, who shared two wickets each.

In reply, Friends XI managed just 92 runs when all their wickets fell in 16.5 overs , thereby lost the match by 71 runs. Justin and Rakul were the only batsmen who reached double figure mark with 33 and 11 runs in their respective accounts. For Ishar XI, Pavit and Vishu were the main bowlers who clinched three wickets each, while Amrit also claimed two and Sourav and Deepak shared apiece each. For his match winning knock of 67 runs, Sandeep was adjudged man of the match.

Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Simula XI registered an easy 72 runs victory over Young Star XI. After winning the toss and batting first, Simula XI scored 188 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of five wickets.

Shashi was the top scorer with 90 runs scored coming off just 44 balls including 13 boundaries , while Irshad and Atul made 28 runs and 13 runs respectively. Abhimanue and Vikas shared two wickets each while Fazal claimed one wicket.

In reply, Young Star XI managed to score only 116 runs in the stipulated overs losing seven wickets in the process, thus lost the match by 72 runs. Abhimanue, Sahil and Arif Ali scored 18, 14 and 13 runs respectively. Hilal Rather and Vikram claimed two wickets each, while Mohit, Varun shared one wicket each. Shashi of Simula XI was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock of 90 runs.

This tournament is being organised by J&K Police and Simula Software. The today’ s matches were officiated by Sadiq, Madan and Amit as umpires, while Sunny acted as scorer.

FIXTURE: JKP XI shall face Doordarshan XI in morning session while Ishar XI shall be playing against HPCC XI in afternoon session on November three.
