Hawala money traders will be probed by NIA: DGP

SRINAGAR, Aug 10: Following raids by NIA and ED on businessmen and Hurriyat leaders, Jammu and Kashmir police chief said that the businessmen who are dealing with hawala money will be investigated and questioned by NIA.
“Businessmen who are dealing with the hawala money that comes from outside or have invested the money into their business and real estate will be steadily investigated and questioned by NIA,” Director General of Police, Dr SP Vaid told reporters on the sidelines of the Police Darbar held at DPL Srinagar.
The police chief said that the ‘Operation All Out’ launched in Kashmir against militants was part of the efforts of security forces to bring peace and prosperity to the state.
Vaid said that police and security forces want peace and normalcy to in the Kashmir valley and across the state.
“Our efforts are that Kashmir is freed from the violence and terrorism orchestrated from across. We want that people here live peaceful and prosperous life, business runs normally, schools remain open. Operation All Out is a part of those efforts to bring peace and prosperity to the state,” Vaid told reporters on the sidelines of the Police Darbar held at DPL Srinagar.
Reportedly, 258 militants from different outfits have been listed for “Operation All-Out” that has been launched strategically in the Kashmir valley.
The security forces have intensified their operations against militants and have so far killed at least 132 militants including top commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
