Cong-led UPA plundered nation: BJP

JAMMU, Jun 19: A large number of Bharatiya Janata Party activists including women, as a part of party's country wide “Jail Bharo Andolan” against corruption and mis-governance of UPA rule demanding Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation courted arrest at Nowshera on Wednesday.
The activists were led by state party vice-president Vibodh Gupta, state treasurer and incharge Nowshera Sunderbani Chander Mohan Gupta.
BJYM state president Ravinder Raina, Captain Ramesh Chander, district president Dr Ashok Sharma, BJP-Mahila Morcha president Neena Sharma, Nowshera block president Mool Raj Sharma, Sunderbani block president Jernail Singh, district general secretary Sushil Sudan, BJYM district president Sanjay Sharma, senior leaders Gian Chand, Narinder Sharma-Mangu, Surinder Anand, Subhash Gupta, Vishal Gupta-Shallu, Tilak Raj Gupta joined by other party workers took out a protest rally which passed through Nowshera town raising anti-UPA, anti-Congress slogans.
Addressing the protesters, Vibodh Gupta said that the Congress led UPA plundered the nation in a way worst than the British that’s why the BJP launched "Jail Bharo Andolan" across the country to reach the masses to expose large scale corruption and the mis-governance of the Congress government. He said that the people of the country could not tolerate the misuse of public exchequer and the rampant corruption of Manmohan Singh government. He said BJP organized “Jail Bharo Andolan” to put pressure on Prime Minister to resign on moral grounds. Speaking on the occasion Chander Mohan Gupta said UPA government lost its credibility and demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He said BJP would continue its fight against the misdeeds of the Congress party till the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
He said whenever Congress ruled the country, the common masses suffered while its party leaders and ministers looted the nation. He appealed to the protesters to work hard to throw anti-national government out of power. Castigating the policies of Congress led UPA government, BJYM state president Ravinder Raina said Congress destroyed the nation and no one had any concern for the nation. He said spineless Congress lost its morality on all fronts and asked the youth to get united to throw Congress led UPA out of power.
Later the agitated workers courted arrest. They were taken to police station Nowshera from where they were later released.
