HC stays election of Forest Minister’s wife as President

JAMMU, July 22 (JNF): High Court (HC) today stayed election of Forest Minister’s wife as President of Hockey Association Jammu and Kashmir.
A suit has been filed by Romal Singh seeking declaration to the effect that the election of Kanta Andotra wife of Forest Minister Lal Singh as President, GS Bakshi as General Secretary, Sheikh Mehmood Maqbool as Senior Vice President, defendant Asima Ali & Ranbir Singh as Vice Presidents of Hockey Association Jammu and Kashmir is illegal.
City Judge Jammu M S Manhas observed that from the perusal of material/documents on record and the averments made in the plaint, it revealed that applicants/plaintiffs have succeeded to make out a prima facie case in their favour and balance of convenience also lies in favour of the applicants/plaintiffs.
Notice is dispensed in view of the emergency urged by Counsel for applicants/plaintiffs. In order to protect the applicant/plaintiff from irreparable loss/injury, and in order to preserve the suit property, the illegal election of Kanta Andotra wife of Forest Minister Lal Singh as President, GS Bakshi as General Secretary, Sheikh Mehmood Maqbool as Senior Vice President, defendant Asima Ali & Ranbir Singh as Vice Presidents of Hockey Association Jammu and Kashmiris temporarily stayed, till next date of hearing.
