Will showcase Valley’s beauty in photo exhibition in Mumbai

SRINAGAR, July 17: The beauty of Kashmir has attracted photographers from across India who for over a week have been capturing the beautiful landscape of the Valley in their lenses.
A group of 19 photographers associated with Photography Society of India (PSI) who arrived in Srinagar early this month on July 8 have so far visited both the famous and lesser known destinations of Valley for photography.
The photographers visited Pahalgam, Aru Valley, Betab Valley, Baisaran, Chandanwari, Manasbal Lake, Dal Lake, Nigeen Lake, Bandipora, Gurez, Doodpahthri, Yusmarg, besides Muhgal gardens in Srinagar.

Earlier, the Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah had an interaction with the photographers inside Nishat Garden where he briefed them about the Kashmir’s tourism potential.
He briefed them about the geography of the state and suggested how the visiting photographers can make maximum use of their visit and time in Kashmir.
The Director informed them with the efforts his department is making to promote Kashmir’s tourism products.
The photographers mesmerized with the beauty Kashmir Valley expressed their willingness to promote Kashmir by holding exhibitions in Mumbai during October this year, where they would display their photographers taken in Kashmir.
“Kashmir is one of the best places in the world for landscape photography. We want to promote Kashmir through our lenses,” Shashant Rajet, Joint Secretary of Photography Society of India said while interacting with the Director Tourism Kashmir.
“We have our own photo galleries in Mumbai where will organize exclusive photography exhibition of the Kashmir’s beautiful landscape in Mumbai,” another PSI member Prasad Mantri said.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Tourism Kashmir said the department would also organize photo tours to Kashmir and would also hold workshops on photography.
For some PSI members it was their 7th visit to Valley, there were also those who were visiting the Valley for their first time.
PSI Prasad Mantri appreciating the beauty of Kashmir said the Valley has unmatched beauty which attracts to them to visit the Valley again and again.
“This place is naturally made for photography. Every place in Kashmir has natural beauty which should be captured and shown to the world,” he said.
