Graeme Cremer prefers longer tours

MUMBAI, July 17: Zimbabwean skipper Graeme Cremer wants to pick Virat Kohli's brain.
Zimbabwe team's Sri Lankan tour ends on Tuesday and the boys are to return home the next day. Virat Kohli's team is soon scheduled to land in Sri Lanka.
"Will probably try and pick Kohli's brain on playing spin and how he goes about his game...", the skipper Cremer, speaking exclusively to this reporter, said when asked what would he discuss with Kohli if both cross path at the airport or in a hotel lobby (Team India is also scheduled to stay at hotel MovenPick and not at Taj Samudra).
Cremer's boys fought tremendously to score 377 runs (lead 387 runs). At one stage in the second innings they were 4-23 and 5-59.
"I thought we were in trouble at those scores but I also knew we still had a lot of batting to come".
"It will be a great achievement to beat Sri Lanka for the first time..and I think we have never won many Tests because we don't get to play Test cricket consistently".
Zimbabwe's all 11 Test victories in 25 years have come only against the Asian teams (2 against India, 3 against Pakistan and 6 against Bangladesh).
"Yes, we definitely would have wanted a longer (Sri Lanka) tour. The more cricket we play against the top opposition the better...", adds captain.
"A Test win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka will be a special accomplishment for the team and the nation", Cremer signed off.
"Zimbabwe's next Test series will be against West Indies (for two Tests) at home', informs the CEO Faisal Hasnain.
In the mean time, Zimbabwe's highest scorer in the second innings Sikandar Raza (127 runs) confirms having had a "normal sleep" though he was 3 runs short of his maiden Test hundred overnight.
"As a matter of fact nothing changed. I still went to bed at the time I have been going at...", the 31-year-old right handed batsman, speaking exclusively said.
"There was a bigger picture and a bigger job that the rest of the batsmen and bowlers needed to do and try to win this Test match. Not just the three runs were important", he added.
Zimbabwe's chief selector, Tatenda Taibu, however, says. Raza hardly sleeps on tour.

"Sikander Raza is a man of short sleep anyway. He loves speaking with his family when away from home and loves his social media too", Taibu, who returned to England after witnessing the few ODI matches in Sri Lanka, said from UK.
"My innings was watched by my few family members", added Raza. "They watched me (playing here) in Japan, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and United Kingdom".
"Some family is in Japan at the moment for business and they followed from there", Raza signed off.
