Hockey coaching camp concludes

POONCH, July 14: A 12-day long hockey coaching camp, organized by Baba Banda Singh Hockey Club Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K, concluded today at Sports Stadium, here. An exhibition match held to mark the valedictory of the special coaching camp.
The match, played between Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Club and Poonch today, ended in a goalless draw. Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Haveli, Shah Mohd Tantray was chief guest while DySP DAR, Mohan Sharma was guest of honour.
Youth PDP leader, Gurdeep Singh Saraf was invited as special guest. The chief guest complimented the teams for their fighting spirit and appreciated the organisers for improving the skills of young and talented players of the district.
The DySP DAR, Mohan Sharma said that district Poonch has got a natural sporting talent which needs to the encouraged and groomed in right direction.
Earlier, NIS hockey coach, Matinder Pal Singh thanked senior vice president of Hockey India, Rajinder Singh, Hockey J&K president, Kanta Andotra and general secretary, GS Bakshi for their support. Proceedings were conducted by Amreesh Kumar while Matinder Pal Singh delivered vote of thanks. Those were present included Mushtaq Ahmed, Manjeet Singh, Narinder Singh, Kulwant Singh, Nirdosh Kumar (incharge Sports Stadium), Ruchika Sharma, Tarlochan Singh, Ram Saroop Sharma (Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Pooch), Kewal Krishan, Manmohan Singh, JB Singh, Rajesh Tandon, Ranveet Singh Lofty, Chani and Prem Parkash Luthra (retired DYSSO officer).
