Thief arrested, Rs 72,000 seized in Rajouri

RAJOURI, July 13: Police claimed to have arrested a thief and recovered stolen Rs 72,000 cash from his possession at Rajouri.
Police said that Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sadiq of Chatyar lodged a written report at Police Post Chingus mentioning therein that on intervening night of July 8-9, 2017 some unknown thieves decamped with a bag containing cash and other document from his shop at Kallar, Chingus.
Police said that a case FIR number 296 of 2017 under section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Rajouri and investigation was started. During the course of enquiry SI Fareed Ahmed I/C Police Post Chingus under the supervision of Jaswant Singh DySP Headquarters Rajouri and Inspector Ajay Singh SHO PS Rajouri on the direction of Yougal Kumar Manhas, SSP Rajouri, picked up some suspects from the area.
During sustained interrogation one of the suspect identified as Mohammad Sohaib Khan, son of Mir Hussain confessed the crime and on his disclosure cash amounting to Rs 71510 alongwith bank passbook was recovered from his possession and further investigation is going on.
