Jammu's Manik finds berth in National Hockey Academy

JAMMU, June 26: Manik Sharma of Akhnoor in Jammu brought laurels to the state by winning a berth in the National Hockey Academy.
The selection has been made by the Hockey Indian considering his performance at the national level competitions. "Manik has been selected in the Sub-Junior category. He is among 35 selected young hockey players from all over the country.
Earlier, 150 boys underwent selection process and finally 35 boys were picked up for the advance training ahead of the international exposure," general secretary of Hockey J&K, GS Bakshi told Jammu Links News.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued here today by the Hockey J&K, Manik has become first young hockey player form Jammu and Kashmir to be selected in the National Academy.
