Targami, Rafi Mir condemn lynching of police officer

‘Cruelty in any form is unacceptable’
JAMMU, June 23: CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami andn PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir Friday condemned the lynching of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) to death on Thursday evening.
Tarigami termed the incident as ‘terrible and criminal’. “It deserves condemnation from all quarters. I appeal to my people they must openly voice their condemnation over this heinous crime,” he said.
“Cruelty is cruelty. Cruelty in any form is unacceptable,” Tarigami added.
In a statement, PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir over mob lynching of a DySP in Jamia Masjid yesterday, said that humanity is at its lowest ebb and there is no place of such barbaric and inhumane acts within the parameters of Islam.
In a statement issued to KNS, he said that there are no words for condemnation of this brutality and it calls for a serious introspection where we are heading to as a society.
“Endless and senseless violence in the holy month of Ramadan has brushed aside the left over remnants of humanity in our society, its saddening, horrific and such an act can never be justified. Those who did this are enemies of Kashmiris and their ethos and condemnation is no word”.
In a sharp reaction to the lynching of DySP Ayoub Pandit the minister for Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports and President All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association Molvi Imran Raza Ansari announced the diversion of his one month salary to the family of the deceased police officer.
Saying that killing of DySP won’t help the perpetrators of this brutal act to earn the blessings of almighty Allah, Ansari told that lynching to death a police officer deployed for the security of the people during the night of forgiveness is a unpardonable crime before the almighty Allah.
He said “though my one month salary won’t feel the wounds of the deceased and compensate the death of the slain police officer, but this is a tribute to the sacrifice of DySP Ayoub Pandit laid for the welfare of the people.
