Rugby 7’s championship 2017 concludes at Shopian

JAMMU, May 23: The two days District Shopian Rugby 7’S Championship 2017 concluded here at Zainpur Sports Stadium, Shopian which was organised by District shopian Rugby Association from May 22to 23.
20 teams from all over the district took part in the championship. The winners and runners up teams got berth in the state championship which will be held at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar in the coming month July.
On the Closing ceremony .
Principal of the National Inovations public School ( NIPS) Nadeem Ahmad was the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners on the championship said that our district have great potential of the overall sports and I hope that Rugby will also get popularity among the masses in our district.
Organising Secretary of the championship said that the winners and runners up teams will perform better in the coming state championship and we hope that our district players will get selected for the forthcoming National championships in near future, Now a days rugby is getting popularity in District Shopian as well as in the state.
The championship was organised by District Shopian Rugby Association under the aegis of J&K Rugby Association and under the supervision and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
