Chib, Sports associations con mourn demise of Dara Singh

JAMMU, July 12: Minister for Medical, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports RS Chib and various sports associations today condoled the demise of world famous wrestler, Dara Singh, who died at Mumbai this morning.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of Dara Singh, who has been an inspiration and icon to many generations in our country his contribution to the wrestling and the Upper House of the Parliament will be remembered by millions," Chib said in his condolence message.
He said Singh was "a self educated son of the soil" who rose to the heights of the entertainment world, sports arena and public life with humility and grace. "I wish to send my deepest condolences to the family of Dara Singh and to his countless admirers in India and abroad," he said.
General secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association, Dushyant Sharma, Jammu & Kashmir Rifle Association, J&K Volleyball Association, J&K Table Tennis Association and Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style Wrestling Association, president Shive Kumar Sharma also mourned the demise of world famous wrestler, Dara Singh.
Members of the Associations and those fans of world renowned wrestler recalled the achievements of Dara Singh and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. A two-minute silence was observed to pray the Almighty to rest his soul in peace.
