Accuses Oppn of hand in glove in settling Rohingyas in Jammu

JAMMU, Apr 23: Following controversial remarks by a minister which put coalition partners PDP and BJP at loggerheads, BJP has asked its leaders and ministers to desist from speaking on controversial issues.
This advisory was given to the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP by its national general secretary Ram Madhav during his sudden visit to Jammu on Friday where he held closed-door meetings with BJP leaders and ministers.
Sources in BJP told that the party high command has given a strict direction to leaders and minister to desist and avoid giving controversial statements.
“Only Deputy chief minister Dr Nirmal Singh and BJP state unit president Sat Sharma have been asked to speak on different matters,” BJP sources told.
The direction was given after Industries and Commerce minister Chandra Prakash Ganga had said that stone pelting youth in Kashmir should be shot with bullets. Madhav too had made controversial statements against protesting youth.
Ganga’s remark had put PDP and BJP at loggerheads with the PDP leaders issuing hard-hitting statements against BJP leaders. It is learnt that Ganga latter “regretted” the remark after being reprimanded by Madhav.
Union minister in PMO Dr Jatindra Singh while addressing the BJP State Executive Committee meeting in Doda said that Opposition leaders are hand in glove in settling foreign Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu for electoral considerations.
“It is an irony that the Jammu based leaders, who have been for years dancing to the tune of their Kashmir - centric masters, are now suddenly questioning the contribution of BJP when they have been thrown out of power,” he said and added, “what has been their contribution to the development of Jammu when they were in power, both in the State as well as Centre for decades together.”
Accusing the Jammu based leaders of non-BJP parties of having sabotaged several important projects just to please their masters, Dr Singh asked, why Shahpur Kandi project was held up since 1970s and only got revived on the intervention of Modi Government.
To those who accuse BJP of having promoted “polarisation” in name of religion, the MoS PMO retorted, BJP has brought polarisation in name of “Vikas” (development) wherein people from all religions and castes voted for it in all the recently held elections.
In his address, Sat Sharma said that the youth constitute 65 pc of the population and their services should be utilized for achieving the desired results in different fields, particularly in highlighting the people friendly programme and scheme of PM Narendra Modi government.
Sat Sharma further said that holding of Working Committee Meetings at regular intervals provide an opportunity to the prominent activists the party to get updated with the new developments in the political field as well as acquaint them with the programmes and policies of the Governments at the Centre and in the State.
BJP State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul shared the details related to the two days visit of BJP National President Amit Shah and spoke on different programmes and events in this regard. He announced that the next Working Committee Meeting will be held on July 30 in Rajouri District.
MLC Ashok Khajuria said that BJP is a Cadre based Party and every activists has a responsibility to work towards educating the people about the false and misinformation campaign of opposition party. He also spoke on the lives of brave Martyrs of erstwhile Doda district.
