NEW DELHI, July 9: Slamming the Centre's interlocutors on Kashmir, BJP leader L K Advani today warned of a fresh agitation if any attempt was made to reverse the integration process of Kashmir with India.
"Today, we want to take this integration process (of Kashmir with India) forward. We want to abolish Article 370. But if today's government, those people sitting in power today, want to reverse this and take this integration process backwards, then probably people of India will have to launch another agitation as had taken place at that time," BJP leader L K Advani said here.
Speaking at a conference "Remembering Mukherjee: National Call to Save Kashmir" organised by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Foundation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the RSS founder, Advani slammed the interlocutors for mentioning such Indian areas of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan as "Pakistan Administered Kashmir".
"Today, suddenly we see in the report of the interlocuters that instead of mentioning 'Pak-occupied Kashmir', they mention 'Pak-administered Kashmir'.
"What's happening? Undermining the unanimous resolution by both Houses of Parliament and undermining the Constitution of India We are raising objections to separate Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir, which also states that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. By undermining everything, our interlocutors are telling us that it is Pak-Administered Kashmir," the BJP leader said.
Advani also reminded Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Omar Abdullah that Jammu and Kashmir was integral to India.
Responding to Omar Abdullah's contention, Advani said, "Jammu and Kashmir being an integral part of India is a statement affirmed not only by Parliament of India and both the Houses by a unanimous resolution but we went to the extent of saying that if there is an area which has been aggressed, invaded by our neighbour, today it is in its control and Parliament affirmed that even that is part of India."
Advani mentioned Abdullah's statement to BJP that 'they must understand that Jammu and Kashmir has acceded to India, it has not merged with India'.
The BJP leader also made a call for taking a pledge that whatever has been achieved through the supreme sacrifice of Mukherjee would not be allowed to be reversed.
"Due to his sacrifice, the integration of Kashmir took place and today we want to take this integration process forward. We want to abolish Article 370...After India's partition, we will not allow its (the country's) any further division," he said.
Advani said "Even the tricolour's unfurling in Kashmir and President's control over Jammu and Kashmir would not have happened had the supreme sacrifice of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee not taken place."
Responding to Muslim fundamentalists' charge that Muslims were not safe in the hands of Hindus, he referred to the recent killing of Pakistan Punjab's Governor by people in Pakistan and said "what is happening today? Hindus are not killing Muslims but Muslims are killing Muslims. If Salman Taseer would have been in India, he would not have been killed."
Earlier, Advani also felicitated Mukherjee's grand- daughter Manju.
BJP leader Tarun Vijay also talked about setting up a memorial for Mukherjee in Jammu and Kashmir.
