SRINAGAR, Mar 26: PCC chief and candidate for Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency G A Mir today said the state government led by PDP lost the people’s trust in true sense.
He urged the people to defeat the divisive and politics of exploitation of ruling dispensation, which miserably failed on all fronts. Mir blamed PDP for mass discontent and alienation among the people.
PCC chief was addressing election meetings at Khanabal and Damhal Khushipora. “I appeal people not to get influenced by any false propaganda being spread by PDP aiming to garner support for their candidates. PDP, while sacrificing its principles, has played with the emotions of people on certain sensitive issues for the sake of power,” he said.
Mir said it was evident that this party (PDP) had not come up to the expectations of the people, who voted for them to checkmate BJP and RSS. “But it is surprising that the same party ensured space for fascist and communal forces in the state. They surrendered everything to them for power,” he said.
He said the upcoming by-elections provided an opportunity to people to demonstrate their anger against the ruling dispensation. “It is the duty of people to respond to ruling parties by rejecting PDP candidates in the elections. It will be a right answer to PDP,” Mir said.
“The defeat of PDP is defeating the communal agenda of RSS and BJP. The need of the hour is to show the PDP that it can no longer take people’s urges and aspirations as for granted. The ruling dispensation has lost the people’s trust and the defeat of PDP is inevitable in the upcoming elections,” Mir said.
He said people witnessed immense hardships during PDP- BJP rule and the time had come to give a befitting reply to them.
