CASH organises orientation workshop at JU

JAMMU, Mar 23: A one day orientation workshop was organised on the topic “Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace” by the CASH (Committee Against Sexual Harassment), University of Jammu. Prof RD Sharma Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest, Prof Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University, Jammu was the guest of honour, Prof Meena Sharma Deptt of Chemistry, Chairperson, CASH University of Jammu, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Dean Faculty of law and Head deptt of law, Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Former Dean Academic Affairs and Director DLL and Prof. Pankaj Srivastva, Head, Deptt of Geology were also present on the occasion.
In her welcome address, Prof Meena Sharma enlightened the audience with University policy on CASH and compared CASH policies with 2013 Act check list.
Prof Anju Bhasin talked on sexual harassment at workplace and how various international forms define it.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia delivered the legal aspects with case references on the topic.
Prof Poonam Dhawan quoted day-to-day examples on the topic and she also shared her personal life experiences.
Prof RD Sharma threw light on the moral values which should be inculcated in the children by their parents.
An interactive session between the panellists and the audience was also held in which more than 20 queries related to the topic were explained by the panel.
After that Prof RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of jammu facilitated. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia , Prof. Poonam Dhawan especially Prof Anju Bhasin Vice Chancellor, Cluster University, jammu for her maiden visit to the University after taken charge by presenting mementos.
In the end Chairperson CASH Prof. Meena Sharma presented momentos as a token of gratitude to Pro. RD Sharma, Chief Guest of the programme.
The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Pankaj Srivastva, Member, CASH. Prominent among those who were present in the function are Prof. Deshbandu Gupta, DAA, Prof. Satnam Kour, DSW, Prof. S.K Pandey, HOD chemistry, various faculty members, officers, students and scholars.
