Jashn-e-Kashmir Festival concludes at Tamil Nadu

JAMMU, Mar 20: The 9-days Jashn-e-Kashmir Festival concluded with enthralled and memorable performance by J&K Folk Artists today at BHEL Community Centre Indoor Auditorium Hall, inside the campus of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Trechipullum, Tamil Nadu.
The Mega Series of Jashn-e-Kashmir Festival at Tamil Nadu State organized by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages in collaboration with South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India from March 12 to 19.
While giving his presidential speech, Dr EN Sajith, Director SZCC, Tanjavur, highlights the important of this 9-Days colorful Jashn-E-Kashmir Festival in Tamil Nadu. He said that the aim of organizing such colorful folk festival in the southern most part of India is to understand & showcase the rich folk culture of the Jammu & Kashmir, which is the crown & pride of the Country.
He said that by organizing such kind of colorful folk festival will help to understand the different culture and its people. He extends his thanks to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir specially to Dr.Aziz Hajini, Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy for their tremendous support for organizing such mega festival in the southern part of India. He further impressed and added that without the support of J&K Cultural Academy & its Officer it was impossible to organize and invite more than 400 J&K artists from different part of J&K State to Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu State.
Mathivanan, General Manager, BHEL, Trechipullum also spoken on the occasion and he extend their gratitude to the all the artists of J&K for their brilliant & colorful performance. He further stress upon the preservation of folk and tradition music of every tribe in today’s modern world.
Nazir Hussain Deputy Secretary, JKAACL, while address on the occasion expressed gratitude to Director SZCC and General Manager, BHEL, Trechipullum and other organizers who was associates with the Festival for providing an opportunity to the artists of J&K to perform at BHEL Campus, Trechipullum, and many other places of Tamil Nadu State as well as Kerala and Karnataka State.
He said that our culture and heritage is our identity. We need to preserve our own culture and traditions for our future generations. Such Cultural Exchange and initiatives is the need for hour. He further said that J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages is committed to provide platform to every folk artists of state to showcase and preserve their folk art and dance.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Alamdar Hussain Shah, Cultural Officer JKAACL, said that the aim of holding such Festival is an initiative taken by Cultural Academy and SZCC for nurture the rich folk arts of the state. He further said such mega festival providing more & more opportunities and space for the different tribes of J&K state artists to showcase their rich folk dance & arts.
The artists from the State presented the colourful programme and entertained the people of Tamil Nadu who enjoyed the Cultural richness of J&K State to the fullest extent. The Colourful Programme began with “Kashmiri Musical Fusion by Saazina, Aryan (Dard) Traditional Folk & Dance presented Dardi Troupes of Kargil Ladakh, Sultan Bhagat Theatre by Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Master Kartar Chand & Party, Bachnagma by Abdul Ahad Dar & Party, Kud Dance by Kishore Kumar & Party, Chakari Dance by Shilvati & Party, Jagarna by the Performer, Ashima & group from Jammu, mesmerized the large number of audiences present on the occasion.
After the programme large number of Dignitaries present at Community Centre BHEL Campus demanded and requested that the J&K Government & SZCC should organise such programmes in Tamil Nadu in coming future also so that Cultural exchange brings lots of peace and prosperity in the whole country and people of different state learn the different cultural traditions of each other.
It is pretend to mention here that the Jashn-e-Kashmir Festival which was commence on 12th March 2017 at Ooty, Tamil Nadu, and was Inaugurated by R. Venkateswarlu, Advisor All India Radio (Southern Region), P. Shankar (IAS) District Collector, in the presence of Galaxy of dignitaries at Ooty.
The Jashn-e-Kashmir Festival at Tamil Nadu was held at many places like in the campus of South Zone Cultural Centre SZCC Thanjavur, Melaveedhi Panchayat Singaperumal Kulambu, Thanjavur, St.Joseph’s College Trechipullum, Caveri Women College Trechipullum and finally concluded at the BHEL Community Auditorium Hall BHEL Campus Trechipullum. In this Festival more than 150 Artists from the three regions of the J&K state viz Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh region participated in the 09-Days Jash-e-Kashmir Festival at Tamil Nadu State.
