Jawan held for murder of colleague

POONCH, Mar 15: Police today claimed to have arrested an army jawan for allegedly murdering his colleague in Draba area of Poonch, March 9, 2017.
Police said that Lance Naik Sukhpal Singh son of Surjan Singh resident of Punjab has been arrested for shooting his colleague Sepoy Balraj Singh, 24, a resident of Punjab to death in his living quarters in the early hours on March 9, 2017. He was posted with Rashtriya Rifles.
The accused has been booked a case FIR number 30 of 2017 under section 302 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Surankote.
Police said that both have a tiff over a trivial issue after the accused shot his colleague using his service weapon resulting in his in the spot death. The army authorities handed over the accused to Police Station Surankote and the cops are questioning the jawan to ascertain any other reason if any behind the crime.
As reported, the bullet-riddled body of an army jawan was found in Draba with police saying the jawan died under "suspicious circumstances". The body bore several bullet wounds.
Sepoy Balraj Singh was a resident of Punjab and is survived by his wife and daughter.
