CM asks SWD to undertake survey of differently abled persons

JAMMU, Feb 21: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said she directed the Social Welfare Department to undertake an enumerative survey to identify the differently abled persons in the state so that comprehensive measures were taken for their complete integration into the social set up.
The Chief Minister said her Government would soon roll out a Disability Policy for the State.
She said this while giving away a motorised wheel chair to a differently abled boy here today.
Mehbooba said all the universities and colleges in the state had also been asked to furnish a list of such differently abled students to the government for attending to their specific needs and requirements.
The Chief Minister gave away a motorised wheel chair to Satnam Singh, son of Vinod Singh of Lakkad Mandi, Janipur.
