Govt committed to uplift weaker sections of society: Andrabi

ANANTNAG, Feb 21: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE and Irrigation & Flood Control, Syed Farooq Andrabi today said the present dispensation is committed for the upliftment of weaker and vulnerable sections of the society for overall and inclusive development of the State.
The Minister was speaking during a meeting to review the implementation various welfare schemes of Rural Development Department, NRLM and Swachh Bharat Mission works in Dooru Constituency.
During the meeting, the Minister was apprised about various welfare and developmental schemes being implemented in the Constituency. It was informed in the meeting that in Dooru, under MGNREGA as many as 199 development works were completed at a cost of Rs 8.90 crore during the current fiscal, generating 139739 man-days in three blocks of the constituency. Besides, 11747 job cards were also issued during the period.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister called for synergy among various departments for effective and time bound implementation of various ongoing developmental works in the constituency.
He said that various centrally sponsored flagship programmes have been launched in the State to provide better facilities to the people. He added that the Government is keen to provide better road connectivity, healthcare, education and drinking water facilities to the people and stressed officers to play their role in effective implementation of Government schemes for changing economic scenario of people.
