DC calls for timely processing of DPs relief cases

KATHUA, Feb 21: Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting of collectors to review the progress of different developmental projects undertaken in the district.
ADC Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan, Collector’s (Land Acquisition) of Kathua, Billawar, Bani, Hiranagar Sub-Divisions besides other officers were present in the meeting.
At the outset, DC took review of relief compensation cases announced by Prime Minister for displaced persons of 1947, he directed collectors to display the list of formalities at notice board for the convenience of displaced persons. It was apprised that over 250 compensation cases from all tehsils has been submitted so far. He directed the officers to speed up the process of identification of such families and process their case with supportive documents required for the claim of the cases.
While laying stress on pacing up PMGSY road work, DC also called for joint survey of revenue and PMGSY department while identifying newly sanctioned PMGSY roads.
DC also called for involving local lamberdars and chowkidar of respective areas during the touring of revenue officers.
DC took detail review of progress of Land Acquisition cases under National Highway-1 A where it was apprised that the process of land acquisition in 48 villages is on and out of which 39 cases were awarded final award and total of 31 mutations were attested so far.
It was also disclosed that Rs 12,38,47,480 has been disbursed for the land acquisition compensation cases in the district for National Highway purposes.
DC called for speeding up the process of attestation and disbursement of final award to the oustees. He called for holding camps for the disbursement of compensation.
He also called for constituting committee for disbursement of compensation in case of land owned by any religious faiths acquired for development projects.
He exhorted upon the collectors to expedite the cases under section 4 of land acquisition act. He also took review of relief cases under SDRF and asked SDM to submit the identified cases.
DC also held thread bare discussion on other development projects viz gref, beacon, grid, 44 ft border fencing, BOP’s, satellite fruit and vegetable market taraf manjli, construction of irrigation distributor narolian, extension of guide bund of Wajoo chack Dam Taraf bala etc. He asked for timely completion of acquisition and final awards.
