JKCA One day matches team selection brews resentment

JAMMU, Feb 21: Favoritism and Nepotism have marred the selection trials of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association for the various national level school competition included Ranji Trophy, T-20 tourney and One Day matches as the deserving players are being ignored.
Upcoming and Cricketers and their parents’ oftenly raised questions over the selection process for the various national level tournaments being hosted under the aegis of Board of Control for Cricket in India saying that the whole selection process is simply eyewash.
They demanded to hold an inquiry by sitting Judge of high Court or from the newly constituted BCCI panel of Supreme Court to probe into the bunglings made by the JKCA and its selectors.
They alleged that presently J&K Cricket Association headed by the Minister for Youth Services and Sports Imran Ansari has forgotten the objects of its inception and the JKCA administrators/ selectors are enjoying inexcusable support to import over aged cricketers like Puneet Bisht, Harmeet Singh and Mithun Manhas who are rejected by their home states.
Though the BCCI has been providing crore of rupees to JKCA for the domestic level activities, yet JKCA failed to conduct its activities at home due to infighting between members of the state richest sporting body of both regions.
However, young deserving and talented youth particularly from Jammu are not getting a chance to play for the state in the various national level cricket competitions which is hosted by BCCI of across the country.
For instance, names of three players imported by the JKCA were incorporated in the various teams on the direction of the top JKCA officials , even they did not participate in domestic level competitions, which has merely a formality for the JKCA to select the state team for Ranji Trophy, T-20 tournament and One Day matches going to be held from this month.
Ironically, despite the resentment by some members, cricketers , JKCA has selected three cricketers from outside state at the cost of the local deserving cricketers who are working hard in the field since last year.
