Inter Distt CRPF- Public Friendly T20 cricket commences
JAMMU, Oct 15: With the idea of promoting sports and sprit of competitions amongst the youth of the District, Inter District CRPF Public Friendly T20 Cricket tournament commence at Sport Stadium Doda.

It is being organised by 76 Bn CRPF in collaboration with Young Star Cricket Club Doda.

SSP Doda Mohd Arif Rishu was the Chief Guest who also inaugurated the opening ceremony of this tournament while Commandant 76 Bn CRPF Shri Taranjit Singh, deputy Commandant Sukhvir Singh, Assistant commandant P.Kalaiarasan, Patron Young Star Cricket Club Doda and Manager Young Star Cricket Club Mehboob Kraipak were the special guests on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Commandant 76 Bn CRPF Shri Taranjit Singh said that theses types of competition by the CRPF will surely help in promoting the spirit of brotherhood among the youth of this District. He also said that participation is more important than winning in all sports events.

SSP Doda Mohammad Arif Rishu while speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts of 76 Bn CRPF for organising this tournament which will boost up the cricket morale among the youth of this District.

The opening match was played between Zakir Cricket Club (ZCC) Doda and Doda Sports Club (DSC). Earlier after winning the toss, DSC Doda decided to bat first. While batting they scored a total of 138 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Irfan and Nasir scored 28 and 25 runs while from ZCC, Mudassir and Yasir took 3 and 2 wickets.

In reply, ZCC managed to chase down the target for the loss of 7 wickets. Owais Butt was the highest scorer who scored 32 runs while Shahdab Wani scored 25 runs. From DSC Doda, Nasir and Irfan took 3 and 2 wickets.

Later on Mudassir wani was declared as Man of the Match for his best all round performance.

In the second match, toss was won by Jodhpur Cricket Club (JCC) and they opted to bowl first.

While batting, Media Cricket Club (MCC) Doda scored a low total of 73 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Abid Pampori and Izhar Gattu were the highest scorer who scored 10 and 06 runs. From JCC, Nasir and Vijay shared 3 wickets each.

In reply, JCC chase down the target with the loss of 5 wickets. Vijay and Harish were the highest scorer who scored 30 and 12 runs while from Media Cricket Club, Izhar Gattu and Shahid took 4 and 1 wickets.

Later on Vijay of Jodhpur Cricket Club Doda was awarded as Man of the Match for his best all round performance.

The match was officiated by Irfoz Rather, Asif Ali Dev as Umpires while Shahid Bashir Pampori acted as Scorer.
