Divisional level inter Distt handball, yoga tourney start

JAMMU, Oct 15: Divisional Level Inter-District Competitions in the disciplines of

Handball and Yoga for boys and girls boys & girls all age group gets underway at

District Police Line Ground and Indoor Complex M.A. Stadium, Jammu.

In all 325 boys and girls drawn from various District of Jammu Division are taking part in the competitions. The tournament is being organized by the department of Youth Services & Sports under the overall supervision of Ashok Kumar Dy. Director Youth Services & Sports , Jammu who declared the tournament open in a well attended function.

While addressing the participants Ashok Kumar said, Sports & Games should not be played merely for incentives and certificates. It should be played to win medals at National and Inter National levels to acclaim name and fame of the country. Besides fitness sports plays an important role for the development of the personality. It also helps as to remain fit and healthy which is very essential for a human being.

Later Ashok Kumar Dy. Director alongwith Vivek Khajouria Handball Inter National Player who was the guest of honor were introduced with the players.

The details:Handball U-14 (Girls), Jammu bt Doda by 4-3, U-14 (Boys): Jammu bt Udhampur by 5-3; U-17 (Boys)Udhampur bt Rajouri by 14-06

U-17 (Girls), Doda bt Poonch by 6-0, U-19 (Boys): Udhampur bt Doda by 16-9; U-19 (Girls), Udhampur bt Doda by 2-0.

Yoga, U-14 Boys: Sourav Kumar Udhampur, Aditya Sharma Jammu, Nitesh Jamwal Jammu, Abhinay Singh Jammu, Tarun Kumar Jammu, Jatin Sharma Jammu.

U-14 Girls: Kajal Sharma Jammu, Siya SuryaVanshi Jammu, Muskan Rajput Jammu, Anshika Devi Udhampur,Shambalika Bandral Udhampur.

U-17 Boys: Saday Hussain Jammu,Nitish Sharma Jammu, Avinash Jammu, Keshav Padha Jammu, Akshay Choudhary Jammu,Kanav Spolia Jammu, Anmol Misri Jammu and Nikhil Sharma Jammu.

U-17 Girls: Kamlesh Kumari Udhampur, Anuradha Udhampur, Monika Sharma Udhampur,Asha Rani Udhampur,Asiya Akhter Udhampur.

U-19 Boys: Atul Khajuria Jammu, RashPal Singh Udhampur,Mohinder SinghUdhampur and Akshay Kumar Udhampur.

U-19 Girls: Palvi Sharma Jammu,Shivalika Jammu,Mehak Sharma Jammu,Sapna Gupta Jammu and Pallavi Raina Jammu.
