Looters in the name of NGO
Kashmir Times. Dated: 6/12/2013 11:10:09 PM
Dear editor,
Few days back one NGO started rendering services like providing potable water facility outside Jammu University campus main gate and another at Shalimar road. The step is good especially during these hot summer days, when one gets thirsty frequently. But the free service proved hollow as the lady serving water outside JU campus is demanding Rs. 5 for every glass of water, which is very shameful. On the one hand in other cities including Punjab and Delhi, some private vendors provide potable water in mere Rs. 1 or 2 per glass but it was very shocking to notice that on the name of NGO a lady is charging Rs. 5.
The act of corruption paints a bad picture and gives bad impression in the minds of masses about the NGOs working on the ground. They are seemingly looting the masses inspite of claiming to help them. The concerned NGO should take action and stop charging huge money from student community.
