BJP pays tributes to ex- Governor of Goa and Sikkim

J&K state unit of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) today pay homage to vetern BJP leader & former Governor of Goa and Sikkim Late Kedar Nath Sahni here .

BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, while paying tributes to Sahni ji, said that he was one of the towering personalities of the country, who worked for the full integration of the state with the rest of the country. His nationalist approach and zeal to unite the patriotic people of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir did not suit Sheikh Abdullah as a result of which Sahniji was externed from the state. Although he was forced to leave J&K but his heart and soul always remained here till his last breathe.

BJP National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the whole life of this noble soul was an institution in himself. He had a number of qualities which took him to the new heights in life. Sharp memory and personal contact with every one was his distinct feature for which he had high regard among the common people.

BJP National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that Sahni’s life style, self discipline and focused approach left an impact on the youth and narrated a personal experience to recall that when his first book containing a collection of Kashmir releated articles was published in 1994, Sahni not only procured the book but wrote to him a detailed letter of appreciation.

State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul said that from the life of Sahniji it can be well judged what qualities should be in a political activist. In our country, the name of sahniji figures among the prominent such ideal personalities.

BJP Cells Prabhari Chander Mohan Sharma said that although Kedar Nath Sahni served the party and later government and different positions still he was always down to the earth with a quality of mixing with the ground level activist.

Senior leaders Amar Nath Gupta, Hira Lal Chatta, Chaman Lal Jain, who had long association before and after partition, narrated a number of instances which prove that simplicity and commitment towards the nation and Jammu and Kashmir was always on his agenda.

Former Mayor Kavinder Gupta also shared his association with Sahniji during his frequent trips to Jammu.

State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A) conducted the proceedings of the condolence meeting.
