Dalmiya hints at banning cheerleaders, after-match parties in IPL

NEW DELHI, June 3(Agencies): Newly appointed BCCI interim chief Jagmohan Dalmiya said that he will work hard to restore the image of cricket in the days to come.
Dalmiya dodged most of the tough questions put to him by reporters present at the press conference.
However, he did confirm that Sanjay Jagdale has refused to come back to the BCCI and said that he would wait another 24 hours for Ajay Shirke to reconsider his decision.
Earlier in the week, Jagdale and Shirke had quit their positions as Secretary and Treasurer of the BCCI in the wake of the spot-fixing scandal.
As regards the Indian Premiere League the CAB president said that no decision has been taken yet. However, Dalmiya hinted that banning after match parties and cheer leaders could be one of the ways of cleaning up the IPL. He added that scrapping the strategic time-out will also be considered.
He also added that a decision on India's representative at the ICC has not been taken yet. However, he clarified that it was up to him to decide on the matter.
When asked about some people questioning the legal credibility of the interim set up Dalmiya said that it was a matter of personal opinion.
