World no tobacco day observed at JU

JAMMU May 31: World no tobacco day was celebrated by department of oral medicine and radiology (Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College) in collaboration with Punjabi department, University of Jammu here on Friday.
On this occasion Dr.Vinod Tickoo,who is senior onco surgeon from Dharamshilla cancer hospital and metro cancer hospital,New Delhi is the guest speaker of the event while Professor Neelam Saraf (Dean Academics) was the chief guest of the occasion.
Dr Satvinder Singh (HOD-OMR )and Prof Archana kesar(HOD Punjabi department) are the guests of honours
While starting this social event of world no tobacco day 2013 Prof Archana Kesar gave the welcome address to invited guests ,staff,students,sarpanches,panches who came from farflung areas of Jammu region. Dr Satvinder Singh also gave welcome note to the gathering.
Renowed speaker Dr. Vinod Tickoo aware the students and invited public regarding this dreadful cancer disease which is mostly prevalent in oral cavity .He also deliver a lecture on preventive measures.chief guest Prof Neelam Saraf also presented vote of thanks .
On this occasion ,a cultural dance and a skit are performed by students of Indira Gandhi Govt dental college. A presentation regarding oral cancer awareness is also presented by deptt Of oral medicine and radiology,IGGDC,Jammu. Astt Prof Baljit Kaur also gave vote of thanks to the invited guests.
On this occasion those were present included Dr Mohan Singh (Medical Supdt)IGGDC Jammu ,Dr. Rakesh Gupta (HOD PERIODONTICS),Dr.Praveen Lone(HOD Oral and maxioficial surgery),Dr Akshay (HOD ORTHODONTICS),Dr.Reecha Gupta(HOD PROSTHODONTICS)are present on this occasion.
