Cong leader demands probe into illegal appointments in Banks

VIJAYPUR, June 1: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today demanded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s intervention and probe into the illegal appointments in various banks operating in J&K.
He alleged that the the banks in J&K, including JK Bank, Rural Bank, Cooperative Banks, Land Development Bank, and Dehati Banks have been allegedly making illegal appointments for various posts without advertising the vacant posts.
Addressing Congress workers meeting in Vijaypur, Congress leader alleged that these banks allegedly make appointments for initial three months or 89 days illegally and then regularize them accordingly, taking advantage of being autonomous bodies.
The former Minister said that for making such illegal appointments the banks authorities in question at the posts of ‘Fourth Class and Clerical Cadre’, take huge amounts for the back door job placement while the educated youth unemployed youth are ignored for providing them employment.
“kith and kins of the politicians are being appointed in various banks,” he further alleged.
Following such activities, there is a need for the Government, especially the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to order an thorough investigation into the issue from the State Vigilance Organisation so that the culprits can be brought to book.
