21st Hind-Pak Dosti Mela on Aug 13, 14

NEW DELHI, Aug 10: The preparations for celebrating 21st Hind-Pak Dosti Mela on Indo-Pak border have started. It will be celebrated by Hind-Pak Dosti Manch, Folklore Research Academy, Amritsar, Punjab Jagriti Manch Jalandhar with the cooperation of South Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) on this side of the border.
On the Pakistani side, the arrangements will be made by South Asia Free Media Association.
The information about this was given today by Satnam Singh Manak, general secretary, Hind Pak Dosti Manch, Ramesh Yadav president Folklore Research Academy, senior vice president Gurdev Singh Mehlanwala, treasurer Ranjiv Sharma and Deepak Bali, secretary Punjab Jagriti Manch.
It will begin on August 13 at Amritsar at 7.30 PM with the play ‘Shah Hussein’ by Azad Theater Group of Pakistan, giving the message of brotherhood. On August 14, there will be a seminar on Indo-Pak relations at Punjah Natshala and Sufi Sangeet at 7.30 PM at the same place. Pakistani artist Khadim Varsi, Sunny Salim and Yakub Gill from Indian side will perform at the Sufi Sangeet. At 12 on the night of August 14, selected dignitaries will give the message of peace and cooperation to the people of both the countries by lighting candles on the border line.
The prominent personalities, who will participate in the event include eminent journalist Mark Tully, Satish Jacob, Pushpindera Kulsheshta, Babli Ravat (New Delhi), Vaita Nizam (Chennai), Akash Amin Bhat (Daily Kashmir Times), P L Uniyal and Jatin Desai of Pakistan India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy. Some other prominent organizations like Sarbat Da Bhala Trust, Peace and Harmony Society (Australia), Majha Virasat Trust Ajnala, Hasham Shah Foundation, Natshala Amritsar, National Women Rights and Crime Control Organisation and Punjab Heritage foundation are also giving cooperation to the celebration of Hind Pak Dosti Mela.
The press conference in this regard was held at Punjab Press Club Jalandhar, where Satnam Singh Manak, general secretary Hind Pak Dosti Manch, Ramesh Yadav, president Folklore Research Academy, Gurdev Singh Mehlanwala, senior vice president, Ranjeev Sharma, general secretary, Deepak Bali, general secretary Punjab Jagriti Manch and prominent poet Surjit Judge were present.
