Shabir annoyed over poor show in Drug Stores

SRINAGAR, May 30: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmed Khan has expressed displeasure over the poor state of affairs in the health department’s Provincial Drug Store, Barzalla and pulled up the concerned staff. He further directed the Director Health Services, Kashmir to call an explanation from the concerned staff for the poor management of stocks and records.
During his surprise visit to Provincial Stores today, the Minister did not find things satisfactory and medicines and records were not properly maintained. He directed the authorities to take necessary steps for their proper maintenance and upkeeps in and around the Stores.
The health Minister instructed the concerned for timely issuance of drugs to the different hospitals after their proper testing and all other pre-cautions. He directed for rationalization of drugs to the hospitals as per the actual requirements.
The Minister also took stock of the functioning of Division of Epidemiology Centre, RNT Centre and Family Welfare Centre located at Barzulla and issued necessary instructions for maintaining transparency and accountability in the functioning of these sections. He asked them to chalk out a well-knit strategy implement various health related schemes as per the mandate.
He obtained complete details related to the physical and financial status of these health institutions and expressed satisfaction on the performance. He lauded the hard work of Epidemiology Centre and stressed upon the staff to work with more devotion and launch mass health awareness campaign to educate the people about the various diseases and their preventive and precautionary measures, particularly in the rural and far-flung areas.
The concerned functionaries put forth various demands before the Minister and requested for immediate disposal. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands of the employees and assured them that their all genuine issues will be addressed on priority.
