Uproar in assembly, over BJP minister threatening Govt official

SRINAGAR, June 22: Opposition Congress created uproar in Legislative assembly over alleged threatening of a senior government official by a BJP minister and demanded action against him.
When the normal business of assembly began today, senior Congress leader Nawang Rigzin Jora stood up from his seat and demanded action against the minister.
Jora said that the BJP minister has threatened a senior government official and asking him to clear the check illegally. The Congress leader said that the minister has misused his power to benefit his supporters.
He told the Speaker to direct the government to check its minister from threatening the government officers and FIR should be lodged against him.
Jora said that police has not registered an FIR against the said Minister. He requested the speaker to direct the state government to refrain from threatening the government officials on the pretext or another.
“Police should immediately register an FIR against the minister,” he told the Speaker.
Jora was later joined by the legislators from the National Conference who also sought action against the accused minister.
Jora produced a copy of the newspaper was handed over to the speaker and he asked the protesting legislators to calm down to allow proceedings of the House.
The BJP minister was not present in the assembly when opposition raised the issue in the assembly.
