ASKPC demands White Paper of funds spent on Jagti

JAMMU, May 25: The executive body of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) was held an emergency meeting to discuss about the problems being faced by the Kashmiri Hindu community since last 23 years including the present scenario of displaced community.
As per a handout, ASKPC President H L Chatta while addressing the meeting expressed concern over the death of a community member Kuldip ji of Jagti Camp due to the wrong policies of the state government towards Kashmiri Pandits who is hell bent upon ethnic cleansing of migrant community. He also pointed out that inmates of Jagti Township are spending their lives in dire straits due to 18 hours regular power cuts and facing acute shortage of water supply in the Township, which has created crises among the inmates of Jagti.
The Conference further demanded “White Paper” of funds being received and spent on Township from Central Government to state Govt for rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Internally Displaced People (IDP) at Jammu to make public and appealed to Govt to mitigate the problems of Jagti Township on priority basis.
ASKPC also criticised the government’s decision for getting pension papers attested by concerned Treasury Officers during this scorching summer season when temperature is more than 45 degree Celsius which is not possible for the aged pensioners to stand in a long queue during these hot days. They also appealed to government to extend the date till September 2013 for the purpose.
Vice President R K Raina, Subash Chatta, B l Handoo, Ashok Dhar, Shadi Lal Mujoo, Ruby Mattoo, Veena Koul, Sarla Ji, Sudhir Dhar, AK Warikoo, S K Raina, Ravi Raina, M L Kashkari and Sanjay Kakroo were also present.
