Bhasin shocked over killing

JAMMU, May 14: Co-chairperson Pakistan-India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy (PIPFPD) Ved Bhasin has expressed profound shock and grief over the killing of Chairman All Parties National Alliance and central president Jammu & Kashmir National Liberation Conference (JKNLC) Sardar Arif Shahid in Rawalpindi, Pakistan on Monday night.
Bhasin described Arif as a close friend and colleague in the movement for peace, justice, human rights and Indo-Pakistan friendship.
He said that Arif was committed to the cause of united, federal and pluralistic J&K and he advocated the peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict in accordance with the wishes of people of J&K and keeping in view the interest of both India and Pakistan. Bhasin said that the death of Shahid was a personal loss and loss to the cause of peace, democracy and justice.
